What a base cabinet has to do
Base cabinets take the abuse in a kitchen. They hold the countertop, absorb the impact of daily use, and house the heaviest things you own. Ours are built on 5/8" plywood boxes with a full-depth back panel, so the cabinet stays square under a stone top rather than racking over time.
Standard dimensions are 24" deep and 34.5" high, which puts the finished counter at 36" once a typical top is added.
Configurations
- Full-height door — one door, one shelf, maximum flexible storage.
- Three-drawer bank — for utensils, tools, and everything that gets lost on a shelf.
- Sink base — false front, no floor obstruction, cut-ready for plumbing.
Drawers worth opening
Drawer boxes are solid wood with dovetail joinery and full-extension undermount slides rated to 100 lb. They close soft, they pull out all the way, and you can reach what is at the back without emptying the front.
